Our commitment to enhance our community’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development through safe and nutritious food has never been stronger. In 2024, CFI’s Food and Nutrition Services team provided a record-breaking number of healthy and appealing meals, along with important nutrition education, throughout Milwaukee County.
Here are some Food & Nutrition Services highlights. In 2024, we:
- Provided 4.85 million meals to 125 schools, daycares and community sites in 2024.
- Prepared and delivered 24,000 meals per day to early education centers and school programs.
- Expanded operations, opening our largest kitchen at Concordia 27 and providing paid training and opportunities to 20+ Level Up participants.
- Received an A grade from the Milwaukee Health Department for food safety at all 4 production kitchens
Numbers aside, it’s about making our clients and community happy and well.
“Our students love lunchtime! We can definitely see the effort and pride put into what you all serve our students. Even our staff at the school, even look forward to lunch.”
“Your online ordering is really kind of awesome. Thank you so much.”
“The roles that you are in, all goes into ensuring that our students are happy and well-fed. Thank you!”
Cheers to another great year of providing healthy, safe and nutritious food to people in our community!
About CFI’s Food & Nutrition Program
CFI’s Food & Nutrition program is a training venue where participants receive real-world experience and improve the health of the community by providing healthy meals to charter schools and early learning centers, and complementary nutrition education to schools we partner with. We also provide fresh and healthy meals during summer months in neighborhood parks, bridging the food gap while school is not in session.
