CFI Hosts Senator Dora Drake for Dialogue on Expanding Access and Advancing Equity Across Wisconsin
On March 20, CFI welcomed Wisconsin Senator Dora Drake for a meaningful discussion about the issues impacting individuals and families across our state. The conversation centered on expanding access to critical behavioral health services and strengthening supports that help people with disabilities live independently – needs that affect communities in every corner of Wisconsin, from urban to rural and everywhere in between.
The group also discussed the challenges that recent state of Wisconsin DEI proposals create for nonprofits serving diverse communities. These measures can limit our ability to reach people who already face significant barriers to care. Our focus remains on ensuring everyone has equitable access to the supports they need.
“As a former social worker, Senator Drake brings invaluable firsthand insight into the challenges faced by the people we serve,” said VP Legal, Public Policy & Government Affairs Steven DeVougas. “Her understanding and engagement make a real difference as we work together to advance equity, access and opportunity. We’re grateful for her time, partnership and the opportunity to advocate on behalf of the individuals and families who rely on these essential services.”
