Farm2Table Dinner Highlights LIFE Services Talents and Community Partnerships
LIFE Services was the star of the show on Sept. 24 at Braise, Milwaukee’s renowned culinary school and restaurant. An exclusive Farm2Table dinner transformed our clients’ homegrown heirloom tomatoes, kale, eggplants and more into a gourmet four-course dinner.
Guests enjoyed chicken laab, Thai eggplant basil curry, roasted pork and tomato basil tart tatin. Each dish featured produce from LIFE Services.
The evening also showcased client artwork and a spirited silent auction. Like the meal, the art reflected the creativity, skill and dedication of LIFE Services clients.
This event was more than a meal – it was a celebration of the talents and dedication of the LIFE Services clients and staff. From planting seeds and harvesting produce to making deliveries to partner restaurants, clients play a vital role in every step of the Farm2Table program. The dinner was a beautiful culmination of their hard work.
A Partnership That Makes a Difference
CFI has been one of Braise’s vendors for three years, delivering fresh produce in exchange for a monetary donation. We are deeply grateful for Braise’s support. Their partnership is critical to sustaining this unique and mutually beneficial program that empowers clients while bringing fresh, local food to the community.
To show their appreciation for being an exceptional partner, our clients presented Braise staff with a beautiful mosaic tile gift. The project was designed to give clients a sense of true ownership while creating something Braise could proudly display in the restaurant. Using donated tiles and items purchased while on community outings, clients cut the tiles and fit them on outline of the Braise logo that was traced onto a serving tray. Clients who often have a hard time participating due to mobility and motor disabilities came together around a table and helped decide where each piece should be placed. Everyone took great pride in the finished project after several months of hard work.
