CFI Joins Disability Advocacy Day at the Capitol
On Thursday, March 19, CFI team members participated in Disability Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Madison. The annual event is hosted by the Survival Coalition, whose mission is to maximize community inclusion for people with disabilities. CFI attended to advocate for our clients and the broader disability community by supporting the Survival Coalition’s call for increased resources for people with disabilities and their caregivers.
Steven DeVougas, VP Legal, Public Policy & Government Affairs, Shaynira Gonzalez, HR Business Partner, and Dante Houston, Talent Acquisition Director, participated in a briefing and rally before meeting with two state legislators – one in the Senate and one in the Assembly. These meetings provided an opportunity to represent CFI and voice challenges currently affecting our agency and the people we serve.
Disability Advocacy Day is an important reminder of the value of engaging in the community and raising awareness about the essential services CFI provides. We’re grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our community and advocate for policies that support our agency, clients and community.
