Meeting Community Where It Matters: CFI at Milwaukee’s Juneteenth Celebration
Milwaukee’s Annual Juneteenth Celebration comes alive each year on June 19, as the community gathers to honor the federal holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States. Milwaukee is home to one of the nation’s largest and longest-running Juneteenth celebrations — a vibrant, intergenerational event that draws tens of thousands of residents, families and community leaders.
For more than five years, CFI has been proud to take part in this meaningful tradition. CFI’s employee resource group, Network of African American Colleagues (NAC), hosted a booth to connect with attendees and share information about CFI’s programs and services, including free summer meals for kids, mental health and crisis services for adults, and autism screening, evaluation, diagnosis and family navigation services.
Juneteenth in Milwaukee is more than a festival – it is a powerful gathering rooted in, culture, resilience and community pride. With thousands of families, caregivers and community partners in one place, Juneteenth provides an unparalleled opportunity to meet people where they are and ensure they have access to critical resources that strengthen health, stability and hope.
That sense of connection aligns deeply with CFI’s core values. Our mission to improve outcomes across the community by serving individuals and families along the continuum of care and collaborating with like-minded partners. Showing up at Juneteenth is one way we honor that mission — by listening, engaging and offering support in a space that celebrates community at its best.
CFI is honored to stand alongside the community in recognizing the significance of Juneteenth and remains committed to supporting the community every day of the year.
