Dr. Justin Ponder to Emcee CFI’s Night of Stories Soirée

Centers for Independence (CFI) will welcome Dr. Justin Ponder as emcee of its inaugural Night of Stories Soirée on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026. The event will bring together community leaders, advocates, donors, families and supporters to celebrate the transformative impact of CFI's services through personal stories of resilience, opportunity and independence.

The Night of Stories Soirée will bring together community members for an inspiring evening of storytelling, connection and philanthropy. CFI clients and their families will share how CFI’s programs have impacted their lives, demonstrating the power of support, opportunity and inclusion.

Dr. Justin Ponder is the Chief Learning Officer at Uplifting Impact, instructor at the University of Wisconsin School of Business, and co-author of The Bridging Leader: Building Connections That Transform. With more than 20 years of leadership development experience, Ponder has helped organizations build stronger teams and more inclusive workplaces. He will guide attendees through an evening centered on the stories and experiences of individuals and families served by CFI.

"Every person has a story worth telling, and every story has the power to inspire action," said Heidi Chada, CFI President & CEO. "Through these stories, we hope to build greater understanding, celebrate the accomplishments of those we serve, and demonstrate the impact that access to health care, behavioral health services, family supports and community inclusion has on thousands of lives throughout our region."

The evening will include a social reception, dinner, stories from CFI clients and families, and opportunities for guests to invest in the future of CFI's programs and services. Attendees will experience firsthand how CFI helps individuals strengthen family connections, access essential services and achieve their personal goals.

Funds raised through the Night of Stories Soirée will support vital programs that provide behavioral health services, disability supports, pediatric specialty care, employment services, and family-centered resources throughout southeast Wisconsin.
