September 2023 Talking Points: Food and Nutrition Services help schools feed healthy meals to children

By Nicholas Dettmann, Social Media and Digital Specialist

According to the Food Research and Action Center, children and adolescents who eat breakfast (either at school or at home) are significantly less likely to be overweight, while skipping breakfast is associated with a higher risk of obesity. School breakfast also helps build lifelong healthy eating habits.

Food and Nutrition Services provide more than 20,000 meals to children at schools throughout Milwaukee every day.
